For a bit of fun, here's 10 simple things that drive customers crazy.
How about having a 15 minute meeting on one or more of these and throw around some ideas of:
> Why it's so annoying to the customer
> What other phrases you could use instead
> How you can make sure everyone complies with this
Here they are:
1. No
2. I don't know
3. That's not my job
4. That's company policy
5. You're right, that is bad
6. Calm Down
7. I'm busy right now
8. Call me back
9. It's not my fault
10. You'll need to talk to my manager / another department
And one more thing: another thing that customers (subconsciously) hate is not having an easy route to giving you feedback / make a complaint / send retruns back ...
And please also remember that customers are internal as well as external!
