Last
year I had the great privilege of cruising in the Whitsunday islands, aboard a
lovely boat called ‘Pacific Sunrise’.
My
wife and I had saved up for this cruise, but were concerned that we’d get stung
on board for drinks with our meal. Why not … it’s an expensive cruise and we’re
a captive market.
We
were truly delighted however to discover that not only were the drinks not
expensive, but actually they were less expensive than mainland bar prices.
When
I asked the owner about this, his reply was simple: ‘We want our guests to have
a great time. They’ve already paid a lot to come on board, so we want them to
relax and enjoy themselves when they’re here’. Then I bought him a beer!
We
had a lovely time!
So,
if you’re going to the Whitsundays, and can afford it, go on the Pacific
Sunrise … it’s the best!
A
beer cost about $2 (I can’t remember exactly), and since then I’ve recommended
the cruise to dozens of people … at least two if whom have booked … at $2000 a
time.
It’s
amazing what a true ‘Customer Focused Mission’, well executed, produces!
